Following the last light

Pennington Flash is best known to me as a wildlife location, but on this evening the landscape itself took over. The low sun opened a bright path across the water while the trees and shoreline fell into shadow.

A quieter view from the bank

Moving back from the open water changed the picture completely. The trees make a natural frame, the empty bench gives the eye somewhere to rest and the last colour of the evening carries through the centre of the scene.
